Amanda
Amanda’s practice encompasses a wide variety of business and commercial disputes, including landlord tenant disputes, partnership and shareholder litigation, real estate litigation, and title insurance disputes. Amanda also defends against personal injury and wrongful death claims for clients in a broad range of industries, including oil and gas, natural gas distribution, pipeline operators, trucking and transportation, manufacturers, building owners, and other businesses. - Named a Texas Rising Star (Texas Monthly, 2009 - 2015)
- First-chaired a week-long bench trial in the Northern District of Illinois and obtained a take-nothing judgment in favor of title insurer on $3.5 million claim by developer for zoning defect under a zoning endorsement.
- Obtained summary judgment for a title insurance underwriter on lender’s muti-million dollar claim for mechanic’s lien under title policy, along with lender’s claims for bad faith and for independent counsel in the underlying adversary proceedings.
- Played a key role in defense of a multidistrict products liability class action against vehicle manufacturer, resulting in the court’s denial of nation-wide or state-wide class certification in ten cases.
